Aspiring Representative
This award recognises the development and achievement of a new territory manager who meets the needs of healthcare professionals and their patients by ethical facilitation of service in promotion of the appropriate, judicious, safe and efficacious use of the sponsor’s medicine. As well as contributing to healthcare outcomes, the successful candidate will demonstrate sensitive communication skills and strengths as a team player.
Entry Criteria
- Ethical or consumer product promotion
- Passed module 1 of Medicines Australia CEP (if applicable to your role)
Written Submission
Your submission should answer the question, “What makes me a successful Sales Representative”.
The follow is a suggested format of what your entry should include. Alternatively please feel free to address the criteria in an essay form of approx. 2 x A4 pages.
Introduction
Include a brief resume of your career history, highlighting your successes.
Customer Focus
How do you focus on the needs of your customers, demonstrate an understanding of healthcare environment and stakeholder needs, eg. Patients, doctors, pharmacy and positively represent the healthcare industry?
Commercial and Business Acumen
Demonstrate an understanding of business ethics, corporate and industry strategy and competent allocation and use of budgetary resources. Describe how you have taken responsibility for your personal development and sought out mentors this year.
Technical Competency
Demonstrate your ability to learn and translate technical information, your understanding of Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) and the PBS and Representative best practice. Demonstrate your superior communication skills. Provide evidence of successful outcomes from training and development programmes.
Planning and Organisation
How do you manage your territory and your time?

If your entry is short listed, you will be notified by email in August 2010. Shortlisted nominees may be required to attend an interview with the judges in Sydney.
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday 23 September 2010.
