Sales Manager of the Year

This award recognises the best practice of an exceptional team leader in coaching and development of a team of representatives to meet the needs of healthcare professionals in the promotion of the appropriate, judicious, safe and efficacious use of the sponsor’s medicine.

Entry Criteria

  • Ethical or consumer product promotion
  • A minimum of 18 months in management roles, as of December 2009
  • Passed all modules of Medicines Australia CEP (if applicable to your role)
Entry to this category consists of a written submission and an online evaluation.

Written Submission

Your submission should answer the question, “What makes me a successful Sales Manager”.

The follow is a suggested format of what your entry should include. Alternatively please feel free to address the criteria in an essay form of approx. 2 x A4 pages.

Introduction

Include a brief resume of your career history, highlighting your successes.

Leadership
Demonstrate your success in building, developing and maintaining a successful team, including succession planning. How are you a strong leader?

Customer Focus
How do you focus on the needs of your customers, demonstrate an understanding of healthcare environment and stakeholder needs, eg. Patients, doctors, pharmacy and positively represent the healthcare industry?

Commercial and Business Acumen
Demonstrate an understanding of business ethics and corporate and industry strategy, competent allocation and use of budgetary resources and innovation. In what ways did you act as a role model or mentor this year?

Technical Competency
Demonstrate your understanding and use of Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) and Representative best practice.

Planning and Organisation
Demonstrate good planning and organisation of sales team and processes and effective allocation and use of budgetary and time resources.

 

If your entry is short listed, you will be notified by email in August 2010. Shortlisted nominees may be required to attend an interview with the judges in Sydney.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday 23 September 2010.
